Rent Cars and Vans in Nairobi

At Catalyst Travels, we take pride in our own fleet of vehicles. Our safari vehicles have a seating capacity of between 7 and 9 seats and are customized to suit the tough terrain of our game parks. They have pop-up roofs which offer a panoramic view on game drives and also act as protection from the overhead sun. Additional facilities in the safari vehicles are safety belts, dust proofing, HF radio calls, luggage storage and cool box with a supply of bottled drinking water. All the vehicles carry a first aid kit, spare parts and a selection of field guides.

Our vehicles undergo full service and safety checks before and after every safari to ensure that they are in the best condition for the road. We ensure that our travelers always have access to clean, well maintained vehicles appropriately sized and equipped for their group and activities.

Our driver guides are well trained and come with years of game drive experience. Their training includes yearly refresher courses covering tribal culture, conservation and constant assessment. Among them we have multi-lingual guides with specialization in languages that you can request for.

Our key words for transportation are SAFETY, RELIABILITY & COMFORT!

SUVs and Saloon Cars (within City rides) can be organized on requests.

Travel in and Around Nairobi

With so many attractions in Kenya, sometimes visitors forget that Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city, also has a lot to offer. Visitors can take a day to visit the Nairobi National Park, which has a variety of wildlife, the orphanage next to the Nairobi National Park, the Giraffe Centre, originally established to protect the Rothschild Giraffe and now famous because visitors are able to feed the giraffes, and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the world-famous orphan-elephant and rhino rescue and rehabilitation programme.

Do you have a free morning or evening in Nairobi and feel like some exercise in natural surroundings – visit the Karura Forest for a refreshing run / walk. For visitors looking for curios and momentos to take home, there are ‘Maasai Markets’ held in various locations in Nairobi, where one can obtain some beautiful locally-made craft items at bargain prices. Modern shopping malls and other individual stores offer some other interesting products, from clothes, to decorative items for the house, to shoes, handbags and jewellery.

For the Golf enthusiast, Nairobi has several golf-courses that are within a 20-mile radius of the city, and several golf courses in nearby towns.

Nairobi is also famous for its buzzing nightlife, with some fine restaurants that offer cuisines form all over the world, and swanky bars, lounges and pubs.

Day trips or overnight trips can be made to the nearby Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru, fresh water lakes in the Great Rift Valley, and home to an incredible variety of bird species and other wildlife. Lake Nakuru in particular is a bird-watcher’s haven, with parts of the lake looking like it has carpets of pink due to the large population of flamingos that make their home here. For those planning to stay at these places overnight, there are options from camping to rustic lodges.

Let us be the Catalyst to your enjoying this unique city.
